Hello all, and I do mean all.
Many of us are feeling the urgent need to become politically active as never before to protect much of what we cherish in this country from what we perceive as serious and grave threats following the election.
To those of you who voted for Donald Trump, please know, we do not wish to be divisive or blaming or anything negative. However any of us voted, we all share this one town, and this one planet. This emergency meeting is about looking forward, not backward.
For those of you who are frightened, as many of us are, please know that coming together in community to work for positive change is probably the best possible antidote to your fear and maybe even sense of helplessness. Let us gather and start planning how we can do our part locally and nationally.
To that end, the Calais Vermontivate group -- now know as Calais Climate Activist Team -- is hosting this emergency meeting on Wednesday night, November 16th, at the Maple Corner Community Center, at 7:15. PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE EARLY as yoga class will be winding down upstairs, and there won't be any parking anyway.
If you cannot come but are interested in being part of this effort, please email me.
If you are excited about the Trump presidency, fine but please do not email me with arguments. We are not interested in rehashing the election.
All the best to each of you, Ginny
