Canaan, Vermont

There will be a special non-denominational service/ceremony held on Sunday November 13th to honor all of the veterans past and current from this region. Originating in 1918, these gatherings were seen as a way for all people to honor and respect those that had served in The Great War. It was declared at the time that it, "... is fitting that the recurring anniversary of this date should be commemorated with thanksgiving and prayer and exercises designed to perpetuate peace through good will and mutual understanding between nations ."

The people of this region are invited to gather together this year in Canaan at 11am at the historic Grace Community Church to continue that tradition that was begun 98 years ago. Special music and memorial words will be shared with all. Veteran's and their family members are all included.
