This fall the community of Craftsbury is enjoying poetry as a part of the Vermont Humanities Council's Vermont Reads. Dozens of copies of Poetry 180: A Turning Back to Poetry, an anthology of contemporary poems edited by former United States Poet Laureate Billy Collins are circulating through town.
On Sunday, October 27 at 6:30PM, the Craftsbury Public Library is hosting a "Poetry Potluck". The idea is borrowed from a traditional potluck, where everyone brings something to share and the entire group gets to enjoy a delicious sampling. For this potluck however, the library will provide snacks, and everyone is encouraged to come and enjoy a sampling of poetry. Bring along your original poem to read, or share a favorite poem written by someone else, or just come and enjoy the feast of poetry shared by others. Our potluck will be moderated by Peggy Sapphire, and all are welcome to participate.
