Discussion: 2016 Election: The Vermont Story
The League of Women Voters of Central Vermont and the Montpelier Senior Center Activity are presenting a panel discussion on the election, how it works, and its impact on Vermont politics in the new legislative session. The event takes place on Wednesday, November 2 at 7:00 at the Senior Activity Center, 58 Barre Street, Montpelier.
Panelists are Secretary of State Jim Condos, Senior VTDigger Editor Mark Johnson and Susan Clark, Middlesex Town Moderator and co-author of "All Those in Favor and Slow Democracy."
Topics covered will be the election process and campaign finance, what the complete turnover in State House leadership might mean - new Governor, Lt. Governor, Speaker of the House and President pro tem of the Senate, and civic participation and how Vermont's local democratic traditions feed into and foster participation in elections and representative democracy
There will be questions from the audience and discussion following the panel. The event is free and open to the public.
