Got an outdated TV you're tempted to leave on the sidewalk with a "free" sign? Think again! You can responsibly dispose of those old TVs for FREE with the Central Vermont Solid Waste Management District's free e-waste collection in celebration of America Recycles Day on Tuesday, November 15, 9 am - 5 pm, at our Additional Recyclables Collection Center (ARCC) at 540 North Main Street in Barre.
Electronic waste, or "e-waste" consists of computers (including tablets), monitors, printers, computer peripherals, and televisions.
While we accept up to three dozen hard to recycle items at the ARCC during our regular hours, on this particular day we are only open for e-Waste in hopes to attract all those lone TVs and outdated computers that still haven't made it in to a recycling center.
Please wipe your hard drive before dropping off your computer or tablet. Check out this article for easy to follow directions: https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-wipe-a-hard-drive-2624527
Electronic waste is banned from the landfill, and has highly recyclable materials built into it, so even if you can't make this event, please bring your e-waste to a certified e-waste collection site on a day that is convenient for you.
