Come to the first concert of Raise the Roof's musical season on Sunday October 30 to hear Mystery Cafe Quartet---a foursome of assorted strings, pipes, whistles, keys and voices that will fill Gethsemane Church with spirited music from the British Isles, France and Canada. With accordion master Jeremiah McLane, traditional Irish tune fiddler Sarah Blair, guitar and banjoist Owen Marshall and piper and whistler Tim Cummings, the small church with pristine acoustics will vibrate with the rhythms of jigs, airs and ballads that showcase their talents and combined joy in playing together. Each is well known throughout New England for their playing but this is one of the few times they will come together as a quartet. Gethsemane Church is on Depot St. in Proctorsville next to Crows Cafe. The music starts at 4:00 p.m. on October 30 and admission is $10 at the door. Put it on your calendar!
