Deerfield Valley Representatives Ann Manwaring and Laura Sibilia are urging parents, taxpayers and residents to attend a Windham Southwest Supervisory Union meeting with the Vermont Agency of Education on November 3rd at 5:30 pm at the Twin Valley Middle High School.

Staff from the AOE are coming back to the supervisory union to ensure boards, residents and communities are all able to ask questions about the options for implementing Act 46 and so that the largest number possible are able to hear the answers to those questions at the same time.

There are resources and assistance available to help the boards and communities work through the Act 46 process and conduct public discussions about how to keep high quality education opportunities for the students in their communities in the future.

Recent articles have reported that the AOE has not accepted the WSSU's most recent proposal for complying with Act 46. The agency will be able to answer questions about what the law actually requires towns to do as well as resources that can help.
