Hello engaged citizens! We are counting down the days to the general election on Tuesday, November 8th. The League of Women Voters encourages you to participate, either by voting early or on the day of the election. If you'd like to take an hour to dig a little deeper in informing yourself on the candidates and issues, you are welcome to join us for our informal Voter Study Group on Thursday, October 27th from 6-7:00 p.m. at the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum. Bring your laptop or smartphone and we'll each do our own research, but keep each other inspired.

Here is a list of helpful, nonpartisan online resources that offer info without bias or hype:
vote411.org
votesmart.org
ballotpedia.org
factcheck.org
politifact.com
maplight.org
opensecrets.org
isidewith.com
allsides.com
pollingreport.com

You can investigate the voting history of current Vermont legislators at www.legislature.vermont.gov by just searching for them by name.
There is a fact-checked text for each of the presidential and vice-presidential debates at npr.org

Lastly, if you want to make sure that you have been thorough in your research and thought-processes, here is a helpful article that offers a good possible process for preparing to make an informed vote: www.lwv.org/content/how-judge-candidate

Your vote is your voice, and it does make a difference!
