Bear Pond Books and the Vermont College of Fine Arts present MUSIC FOR BARNS, a concert of music and readings on the subject of rural and rustic Americana. Members of the Aurea Ensemble will play will play fiddle-tunes, hymn-tunes, and modern pieces based on traditional American music. Ben Johnston’s deeply moving Quartet No. 4 (“Amazing Grace”)—will alternate with excerpts from works by Robert Frost, John James Audubon, S. J. Perelman, and others, to be read by National Book Award nominated author M. T. Anderson ("Symphony for the City of the Dead") and Gregory Maguire ("Wicked", "After Alice").
