It is only in recent years that we've had the tools and the perspective to observe and value life at the microscopic level. We're discovering that what happens in these "invisible" ecological communities is more complex and more significant than anyone could have thought, with implications for farmers, foresters, gardeners, health care professionals, famillies and individuals. MacArthur Fellow and geologist, David R. Montgomery and his wife Anne Bikle', an activist/environmental planner/biologist and gardener will discuss insights from their recent work and the book "The Hidden Half of Nature, The microbial roots of life and health." By donation! A collaborative effort of the Cutler Memorial and Jaquith Libraries, Natural Marshfield, the Conservation Commissions of Plainfield and Marshfield, and Goddard College. Bear Pond Books will be at the venue selling the authors' books. AT GODDARD COLLEGE'S HAYBARN THEATER, near the intersection of Routes 214 & 2; wheelchair accessible.
