Community Dance Party!

Tonight! at the Chandler Center for the Arts on Main Street in Randolph, VT. One Main Tap & Grill will be on-site with dinner and snack food available as well as drinks. This is the second interactive event in Chandler's “Live and Upstairs!” series. The evening’s activities are family-friendly, featuring a facilitated jam session for musicians, a dance workshop for all levels of experience, live music with dance instruction and social dancing. A variety of dances from the village cultural traditions of the British Isles, Ireland, Scotland, France and Quebec will be taught, including waltzes and polkas and English Country Dance. There will also be a special demonstration of Scottish Dancers.

Dance callers are Robin Russell and Martha Kent with traditional dance music provided by “Larks in the Attic” (Susan Reid –fiddle, Linda Young – celtic harp, Pam Bockes – guitar).

Doors open at 6:00pm for workshop participants (acoustic instruments only). Refreshment sales and workshops begin at 6:30pm. The dance band a strikes up at 7:30pm, with dancing continuing until 10:30pm.

Admission is on a sliding scale of $10 - $15pp. There is no charge for children under age 6. People of all ages are encouraged to come listen, learn, play and dance together.
