Title: Author John Elder to speak at CHC Annual Gathering

John Elder, author of Reading the Mountains of Home will be speaking about his connection to Vermont's forested landscape and the place we call home. Elder, has published widely, both as a scholar of environmental literature and as a writer of personal, reflective essays. His books, Reading the Mountains of Home, Picking Up the Flute, The Frog Run, and Pilgrimage to Vallombrosa, each combined discussions of literature and environmental history, descriptions of the Vermont landscape, and memoir.

Elder's presentation will be part of Cold Hollow to Canada's Annual Gathering on Thursday, October 27th at 6 pm at the Montgomery Grange Hall in Montgomery. Enjoy a catered buffet dinner and celebrate CHC's commitment to the stewardship and conservation of woodlands in the northern Green Mountains.

A buffet dinner will be served at 6:30 pm. We'll provide beverages, but if you'd like to bring a favorite brew or bottle of wine that's up to you!

The suggested donation for this event is only $10 per person, of course if you'd like to contribute more you're welcome to! Your donation will help to cover the cost of the evening and anything beyond that will go to support our programs and projects. Donations will be collected the night of the event.
