Hopefully everyone read in this week’s News & Citizen about the two local candidate debates we are hosting Tuesday evening (Oct. 18) at the Green Mountain Technology and Career Center in Hyde Park.
The first debate kicks off at 7 p.m. with Lamoille County Senate hopefuls Rich Westman and George Gay facing off. Westman is the Republican incumbent and a political veteran. Gay is the Democratic challenger, running for public office for the first time.
The second debate starts at 8 p.m., and features the five candidates running for the two House seats in the Lamoille-Washington district — it represents Morristown, Elmore, Worcester and Woodbury. The debate will feature Democrats Avram Patt (the incumbent) and Dave Yacovone, Republican Gary Nolan, Progressive Marci Young and independent Don Valentine.
See you there!
