In this presidential season its important to remember that women's right to vote in America is less than 100 years old!
This Sunday, Oct. 23rd, come to the Solomon Wright Public Library to meet Susan B. Anthony, 19th century social reformer and women's rights advocate. Together with Elizabeth Cady Stanton she proposed what became the Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution - women's right to vote - which became law in 1920.
Phyllis Chapman, as 'Susan B. Anthony', covers the suffragist's early years as a Quaker in nearby Adams, MA and NY State, and her collaboration with Cady Stanton. 'Susan' relates her historic involvement in the the Temperance and Abolitionist movements and her experiences as the strategist and organizer half of the Anthony-Cady Stanton partnership.
