Over a hundred people walked through the Borderlands on opening day, Oct. 15th: poetry, music, magic, dance, theater, hiking, walking, singing, water, woods, faeries, fires, and food and drink. What's not to love?! See reviews at findandgoseek.net (and, coming soon, in Seven Days).
*****
Come on a theatrical walk through the wild woods. This is the Borderlands, the land where faeries dwell and magic whispers in the wind. Back again for the 3rd year in a row, The Borderlands has been hugely popular for artists, families and children of all ages.
****
This mile and a half walk through the woods is for children and adults who believe in magic. You encounter stories and music, poetry and nature on all sides, while discovering the secrets of the Tir na nog, the world of everlasting beauty, abundance and joy. All proceeds go to The Way of the Bard walking tour of Ireland next spring.
October 15-16 and 21-22. Groups leave every 15 minutes from 2-5 pm. Buy tickets in advance at Treewild.org or walk up (best before the 4 pm show). Bring friends. It's Halloween without the howl and all of the enchantment.
The Borderlands is brought to you by the teens from Enchantment Camps, a Shelburne-based summer camp. These teens are in the final year of a four-year adventure called The Way of the Bard. They meet to practice their Bardic skills – poetry, storytelling, fire-spinning, singing and playing music… oh, and walking. In June of 2017, they will travel to Ireland and walk across the countryside in the tradition of the ancient Bards, giving their performance art piece to people in villages along the way. The Borderlands is a major fundraiser for this trip.
The Bard students (with assist from master builders) have also built an enchanting Teeny Tiny house, which is on display in the driveway during The Borderlands at 338 Thompson Road, Shelburne. Raffle tickets for this $20k house are $10. A second raffle is for a beautiful quilt. Also at Treewild.org
