Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Linda Warnaar celebrates her newly released album “Zero Gravity” at the North Church building of United Community Church in St. Johnsbury on Friday, October 21, at 7:30 pm.
“Zero Gravity” is the latest collection of Warnaar’s poignant songs and features her bands, Tritium Well and Chickweed, plus her long-time duo partner, bassist Micah Carbonneau.
Bobby Farlice-Rubio leads Tritium Well on guitar with Waarnar on drums, Nic Anzalone on violin, and Kevin Colosa on bass om their blend of “roots, rock, and reggae".
Chickweed is an all-women band that features upbeat folk, with jazz/blues and Latin sounds in three-part harmonies with Warnaar on guitar, Fran Forim on upright bass, and Abby Maier Johnson on percussion. They all will appear together on the sme stage for the first time, and according to Linda, probably the last time.
Warnaar notes that part of the inspiration for this album came from inheriting her late father’s flugelhorn, which is featured on several tunes. Linda says, “It's really fun to be playing the horn again.”
The album was co-produced and engineered by Bob Amos of the band Catamount Crossing and Stark Brook Productions. He says: "It was a total pleasure recording Linda’s new CD. 'Zero Gravity' is full of interesting songs, wonderful instrumentation, and soulful singing. Of all the projects to have come out of my studio over the years, this is one of my favorites.”
Tickets: $10, Students free. Advance tickets are available through the Catamount Arts website.
