Come down to our Last Market of the Season this Friday!!

This week, come with your tote bag to load up on tons of fresh veggies, meats, fish and creative crafts, and stay for a delicious dinner from one of our prepared food vendors, face painting for the kids and enjoy and sing along with the fun music!

First, you’ll need to grab your groceries for the week. Don’t forget, this is our last market, and lots of things freeze well! Now is a good time to load up on chicken, bacon, eggs and lamb sausage for the next few weeks. We’ll also have Coho, Red King and Ivory King Salmon fillets and Smoked Coho Strips, recently caught by hook and line in Alaska, all in frozen, vacuum sealed portions.

You can enjoy your veggies fresh this week or do some canning to have them all winter! We’ll have fresh baby ginger, turmeric, garlic, sweet potatoes, pumpkins, parsnips, sauerkraut cabbage, leeks, eggplant, lunchbox sweet peppers, sweet roasting peppers, onions, fingerling potatoes, squash, kale, dandelion greens, chard, many tomato varieties, salad turnip, arugula, scallions, corn relish, jam, kimchi and more!

Once the music starts you won’t want to leave, so why not just plan to stay and have dinner at the market this week? All this season’s favorites will be there; curry chicken and other savory meat and veggie pies, fresh wood fired pizza, slices or whole, authentic Mexican tamales, tacos, burritos and quesadillas, bureks, sesame noodles, spanakopita and tasty honey lemonade.

Or if you’re not too hungry yet, you can pick up a snack or some sweets to munch on or bring home for later. You’ll find pumpkin spice and other flavored popcorns, mini pumpkin pies sweetened with maple syrup and with cinnamon whipped cream on the side, maple sandwich cookies, maple butter fudge, traditional and bourbon barrel aged maple syrup, maple candies, honey, honey cream, nutcracker sweets (toasted walnuts in honey), pistoli, croissants, chocolate chip cookies, ciabatta, baguette and sweet pies!

I know it seems early to think about this, but the holidays are fast approaching, and since this is our final market, now would be great time to pick up some locally made gifts! Beautiful hand-painted cards with nature themes, dried flower arrangements, wool yarn, handmade soaps and lotions in many different scents, handmade wooden bottle openers and decorations, porcupine quill earrings and photography art, lavender scented eye pillows and chair massage you can enjoy at the market or get a gift certificate for.

The RES Four Winds Nature Program will be selling Vermont Buy Local coupon books and hot cider to raise funds for the program.

The Owl Stars are returning for our final market and and will start at 5! Andrew and Elizabeth are a husband and wife duo from Northern Vermont that have been playing music globally for over 15 years. Andrew James (acoustic guitar/vocals) and Elizabeth Patterson (keys/vocals) were members of the Americana rock band, Citizen Bare. They continue to write and develop new music that highlights their individual vocals and soulful harmonies. Andrew James is a folk singer-songwriter that poetically blends together themes such as love, family and relationships, as well as social justice, current events and the complexity of the human experience. Thank you to Bellwether Craftsmen for sponsoring this week’s music!
