Guilford Center Village Natural Playscape Meeting

Past event
Mar 28, 2019, 6 to 7 PM

The Guilford Center Village Natural Playscape is a lovely parcel of approx. 1 acre of land located on Carpenter Hill Road, across from the Andrew Weeks Forest Trailhead and beside the historic one room schoolhouse. The Playscape is a natural area that has features for exploratory and imaginative play while integrating into the existing landscape. The Playscape project aligns with initiatives in the Guilford Town Plan to revitalize Guilford Center Village and to create community spaces for positive interactions between neighbors, while maintaining the natural aesthetics that Guilford residents expect to see in their town.

Community members are invited to attend an on-site meeting at the Playscape on Thursday, March 28th from 6-7:00 to brainstorm ideas pertaining to the enhancement of the park. Your ideas are welcomed and now is the time to share them!

The Guilford Recreation Commission is considering application for 2 grants:
1) RISE VT grant for up to $1,500
2) State of VT Building Communities Grant Program: Recreational Facilities Grant of up to $25,000 which includes a 1:1 financial match requirement.

These grant opportunities could help to fund some new projects at the Playscape which would help to make this park accessible and enjoyable for people of all ages and abilities.

Community input is welcome!

In the event of inclement weather, the alternate location for the meeting is at the Town Office.
