The much-anticipated climate art show is now on exhibit at the Richmond Free Library, sponsored by Radiate Art Space and Richmond Climate Action Committee. There is much exceptional work here from local artists who are engaging their imaginations with the biggest crisis of our time.

The show is on exhibit through the month of September. Allow plenty of time, or plan on making multiple visits to the library to take it all in and be sure to view the community-created mural on the outside of the building.

On Saturday, September 18, there will be a public reading of prose and poetry (6 – 7 pm), following a meet the artists open house with refreshments, (4:30-5:45 pm) on Saturday, September 18. This will be an outdoor event with Sunday 9/19 for a rain date. Bring a chair or a blanket to sit on.

The Climate Art Show showcases works from a wide variety of artists of diverse ages and backgrounds and include work from a series of free workshops offered by Radiate Art Space and Richmond Climate Action Committee. These workshops (the first were held in the winter of 2019-20, before they were interrupted by the covid crisis) gave participants the opportunity to create climate-focused cartoons, posters, postcards and the community mural on exhibit outside the building. "The climate crisis workshops support our mission of fostering social and community-building interactions through art," said Rebecca Rouiller, Executive Director Radiate Art Space. "We hope people will connect, create, and speak out to make a difference in our community and our world."
