Telling Your Story: Writing Memoir Without Being Excommunicated
Join Vermont author Erika Nichols-Frazer in discussing writing memoir and the vulnerability of sharing your story, as well as fears that it might hurt others or be judged harshly. Erika will read from her memoir, Feed Me: A Story of Food, Love and Mental Illness, and we'll look at examples of compelling memoirs and do some writing of our own. Bring whatever you prefer to write with.

Bio: Erika Nichols-Frazer is the author of the memoir, Feed Me: A Story of Food, Love and Mental Illness (Casper Press, 2022) and the poetry collection, Staring Too Closely (Main Street Rag, 2023). She is the editor of The Mountain Troubadour, the Poetry Society of Vermont's annual print journal. More than 30 of her essays, poems, and short stories have been published in journals such as HuffPost, River Teeth's Beautiful Things, oranges literary journal, and elsewhere. She volunteers with Central Vermont Adult Basic Education, is on the board of the Green Mountain Book Festival, and has taught writing to all ages and skill levels. She is the Writing & Humanities Coordinator at Vermont State University, Johnson. She lives in Waitsfield with her husband and various animals.

All are welcome!
