There is an amazing evening coming up at this Sunday at the Big Pic that I can guarantee you will enjoy. I was so lucky to see "A Hill Farmer's Story" back when it first premiered, and it is a very moving film. Local filmmaker Kate Youngdahl-Stauss crafted this story from the uncovered 100-year-old journals of a dairy farmer and woodsman from Granville and interweaves that with her own family's tale of a farming life in Granville today. You will see that while so much has changed, the hills remain the same. It is Vermont at the core as is the rest of this Sunday pre-eclipse evening called" A Hill Farmer's Story and Other Vermont Tales". The Big Picture is opening specially for dinner (5-9) and collaborating with Phantom Theater to stage this event. The evening also features long time Phantom theater actor Ron Donaldson with Ethan Bowen from Bald Mountain theater in Rochester doing original readings and comic sketches about the changing times in Vermont. Then the whole night is capped off with live music by singer-songwriter Kris Gruen of Worcester, Vermont, and his band of musicians from Vermont and NY city.
