Past event
Jan 13, 2024, 10 AM to 12 PM

Vermont political observer and writer Rob Roper brings his "Behind the Lines" analysis and commentary to the Milton Library on Saturday, January 13 at 10 am, the event is free and open to the public.

Rob will provide the details behind a current bill to increase the income tax by 10% and the Vermont tax commissioner's estimated education property tax increase of 18%. Rob will also discuss a recent survey of likely Vermont voters by Campaign for Vermont, and how the results of the survey contrast with recent legislative actions, especially related to energy policy, the state economy and taxation.

Rob has a two-decade career in Vermont politics and policy, including hosting a popular WDEV radio show and president of the Ethan Allen Institute until 2022. Rob has a successful reader-supported commentary on Substack, and his commentaries have also been published in several other Vermont media outlets. He is a frequent guest on WVMT's Morning Drive with Kurt Wright and Anthony Neri.

Let's go "Behind the Lines" with Rob to see what's really happening in our state, and how we can impact the direction of Vermont. This event is sponsored by the Milton Republican Committee, but Rob's talk will be important to anyone who pays income or property taxes. All are welcome.
