Emerald Ash Borer: Critical Notice to All Concerned Citizens

The Emerald Ash Borer is coming! We’re surrounded!

You are being invited to a gathering of concerned, action-oriented citizens. We will be talking about the financial implications of an infestation of Emerald Ash Borer and Asian Long-horned Beetles. These tree-killing beetles are headed our way.

A regional response, as opposed to each town acting individually, will be cost effective. And pro-active planning can mitigate some of the impact.

Dead and dying trees have to be taken down at an average of $300 to $400 each. Grinding, disposal, and storage of dead trees will have to be addressed. There will be no state or federal money available. Getting started sooner than later has real benefits for our communities.
