Friday February 28th: Worldwide Economic Boycott Event
Avoid purchases as much as possible (if you must spend, restrict to local vendors), stop or reduce consumption of services, no streaming media, no social media.
It may sound like a lot, but with a little planning between now and then, people can participate quite a bit if they wish. Make purchases during the week, beforehand or afterwards, stay home, download movies, games or books if you need to, etc.
It's just one day.
One. Single. Day.
But if well-observed across the country and world, it will make a hard impact. The boycott is "aimed at taking back power from corporate giants and billionaires."
And best of all, there's no special equipment needed to do this. Quite the opposite!
Event organizer John Schwarz notes, "For our entire lives, they have told us we have no choice. (And) that we have to accept these insane prices, the corporate greed (and) the billionaire tax breaks. All while we struggle to just get by," Schwarz said in the viral video. "February 28, the 24-hour economic blackout: no Amazon, no Walmart, no fast food, no gas, not a single unnecessary dollar spent. For one day, we are going to finally turn the tables."
How low can we go?
