Join us at the Adamant Co-op Gallery Saturday, Feb 1 at 1:00, when Dian Parker will be reading from her chapbook, Color of Time. The book and its cover, a vibrant 2'x2' oil painting, are featured in the gallery's current "Layers" show.
Color of Time, is a gambol through the history of color. The book consists of eight layered essays, each focusing on a single hue. Dian relates each color to its history, her far-flung travels, and the natural world. Each chapter stands alone, vivid in its depiction of pigments from the Roman empire forward, and the artists and alchemists who created them. Dian lives in Chelsea, VT, and writes essays about color, art, and artists for a number of arts publications.
