South Royalton artist Joan Hoffmann discusses "The Art of Wilderness," a talk exploring the relationship artists and natural landscapes have shared, on Friday, December 12, 7 p.m., at the Royalton Memorial Library.
"Vermont wilderness areas have inspired painters and writers and we have wilderness in Vermont because these protected areas inspire artists. Our free spirit and open spaces go hand in hand." --- Joan Hoffmann
Hoffmann's program is presented as complement to the Upper Valley Sierra Club's display of Vermont and New Hampshire wilderness photos (exhibited at the library Dec. 9-Jan. 3). The talk and photos are in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the federal Wilderness Act.
