Dear friends and neighbors,

If any of you play the fiddle or a melody instrument and would like to learn about traditional Welsh music, there will be a workshop Saturday from 1 - 2:30 with Welsh fiddler, Sian Phillips who is here for a two week tour of New England. She is very informative, fun, and entertaining so this will be an enjoyable experience if you can make it. The violin shop will also have baroque style bows on hand for those who wish to try them, as this is what Sian uses when she plays her fiddle. Her style and repertoire is distinctive and unique. so this is a great and rare opportunity! The workshop is for intermediate to advanced level players of the fiddle or melody instruments, but beginners are welcome to attend (it is recommended that they bring a recording device in order to be able to work with the material at a slower pace after the workshop).
