Hi Bristol community!

Art lovers, makers, creators and admirers, we're doing it again - Art On Display - Mother's Day. Yay!

This Sunday - MOTHER'S DAY, 5/10/20 - in celebration of mom and caregivers this Spring. Feel free to make and display art just for mom, grandma, or any women who helped raise you. Or display any art that you love, or have been working on lately. Whatever makes you smile. The idea is to share that smile with your neighbors. :)

Check out this 1-2 min video with the details! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kU9UL94iVa8

I hope you'll join in the fun, 'cause it really was pretty adorable last time! On April 4th, we had quilts, paintings, posters drawings, pottery, marker/crayon creations, felted art and sidewalk chalk galore. 25-30 or so homes in the village displayed art in their front yards, propped on chairs and all kinds of interesting ways, and waved to passersby as they enjoyed a lovely display of our community's artistic endeavors. We even had a car or 2 drive around town (super slowly!) hanging art out the window, as a way to participate and stay safe. If you haven't seen it yet, here is a highlight video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFBMAJWMYUk (Pics by Tom Pollak and myself.)

If you missed this fun and easy way to share joy with your neighbors in April, please give it a go this Sunday - you'll be so glad you did. :)

Aaaaand, and added bonus... 5 Town Friends of the Arts is generously donating some sidewalk chalk and coloring pages to help inspire and support this little project. THANK YOU, 5TFA! There will be 2 tubs at the library labeled as "Art on Display Mother's Day supplies. Please only take 1 or 2 pieces of chalk, and only the coloring pages you will use - thank you.

A couple reminders - this is not an opportunity to sell your art. But if you are a professional and would like to display some pieces, we would be thrilled. And most importantly friends, please follow current social distancing protocol. Stay 6 feet apart from folks you encounter out and about, and please do not gather in groups.

So get your art on, Bristol Village! If you were waiting for a reason to start or finish something, now you've got one. :D Looking forward to seeing you and/or your art on Mother's Day!
