Join us at the Caledonia Grange #9 in East Hardwick for rocking good time at our traditional New England Contra Dance held the Second Saturday of each month from Oct. to April.
A potluck supper at 5:30 brings neighbors and dance gypsies together to chat and share a meal before kicking up of heals at 6:30.
This month David Kaynor joins us to teach and call the steps. David has called and organized the legendary Greenfield, MA contra dance for more than 30 years. He makes dancers of all levels feel welcome and glad they came. His fiddle speaks good times, deep respect for tradition and occasionally, playful irreverence. He currently directs the illustrious Vermont Fiddle Orchestra.
Local favorites American Toad will pamper dancers with fine old time fiddle tunes.
Dancers who bring their own plates and utensils along with their potluck dish get bragging rights and gold forehead stars.
The Caledonia Grange is the oldest continuously operated grange in Vermont. Come add a new chapter to its history with us.
Admission by sliding scale: individual $5-15; family $10-25. For more information or to volunteer contact Alana Considine at 472-5584.
