HI EVERYONE! THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS IS FOR ALL PEOPLE INTERESTED IN OUR DEMOCRACY!
Our next League of Women Voters NEK meeting is Sunday, September 10th from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Parlor of the United Community Church North in St. Johnsbury. We hope you will attend, since we are going to be setting our goals and agenda for the coming year. The more voices and perspectives we have present, the better we can do this! Please think about what is important to you and bring your ideas and inspirations to the meeting.
Also, there will be a meeting of the policy/education groups on Thursday, Sept. 7th at 5:00 to take the next steps re: Ranked Choice Voting. Anyone with an interest in getting a more solid understanding of Ranked Choice Voting and/or interest in helping to move Vermont towards adopting it is welcome to come. We need you folks who might be able to help design games to teach Ranked Choice Voting. Input from educators is welcome. If you would like to attend, call Betty at 748-1966.
* While the League's legislative priorities change to reflect the needs of society, our organization remains true to its basic purpose: to make democracy work for all citizens.
It is a nonpartisan political organization that has fought since 1920 to improve our government and impact public policy through citizen education and advocacy. The League's enduring vitality comes from its unique decentralized structure; working at the national, state, and local levels. The League neither supports nor opposes candidates or political parties at any level of government.
