The "Merchants of Doubt" film showing will be at the Hinesburg Town Hall (by the traffic light in the middle of town) at 7 pm on Monday, Aug. 7th. This 90-minute documentary helps explain why our government has been slow to take action on climate. It's a free event; all are welcome -- don't miss it!

The film exposes the concerted strategy by Exxon and other corporations to create doubt about the facts of global climate change. It shows the tactics used by the fossil fuel industry -- using pundits-for-hire who pose as experts and scientific authorities. In this guise, the “experts” have succeeded in raising doubts and helping to stall action on climate.
