As part of our 20-18 Written Word Out Load Series Art on Main is pleased to host a poetry reading by Vermont poets, Kristin Fogdall and Jari Chevalier. Join us in the intimate setting of the gallery to hear these two nationally published poets share their work with us, followed by refreshments and an opportunity for conversation.
Jari Chevalier
Kristin Fogdall
Kristin Fogdall was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, the descendent of early Oregon pioneers. Her work has appeared in The New Republic, Poetry, New England Review, Slate.com and other venues. She has been named a Poetry Fellow by the New Hampshire Arts Council, and she received both the Thoreau Fellowship and the ALSCW/VSC Fellowship with the Vermont Studio Center. She is at work on a full length collection and lives with her family in Morrisville, Vermont.
Jari Chevalier holds a Master of Arts in Creative Writing from CCNY where she studied with the late William Matthews and received an Academy of American Poets Prize. Her poems have appeared in Beloit Poetry Journal, Boulevard, Cincinnati Review, Poetry East, and other journals. She won the inaugural poetry contest at Sheila-Na-Gig Online and was a semi-finalist for the Tomaž Šalamun Prize from Verse magazine. She has received a residency grant for interdisciplinary work in art and poetry from Marble House Project. She lives in Monkton, Vermont.
