Seeking Operations Manager to join our team

Front Porch Forum is looking to hire a super-organized and experienced operations lead to join our mission-driven team. This is a hybrid (remote and Burlington office), full-time position (32-40 hours per week).

The successful FPF Operations Manager will (1) support staff to effectively deliver on our social mission, (2) build systems to efficiently operate our business, and (3) help nurture a positive and constructive team culture for all colleagues.

In addition to strong technical competencies, the ideal candidate will be community-minded, value diversity, and be able to engage warmly and patiently with people from all walks of life. We seek an excellent communicator who is adept at managing systems and effectively using digital technology. FPF is growing and evolving, so the ability to embrace change is key.

Launched in 2006, FPF is a Vermont public benefit corporation with two dozen employees spread across the state. Our award-winning service helps neighbors connect and build community. We do that by hosting regional networks of online local forums, and other digital services. Currently, 215,000 members participate across the 270,000 households that exist in Vermont.

The FPF Operations Manager is a new position. This role has been partially covered by multiple managers up until this time. With recent growth and continued investment in our staff and systems, it's clear that we need a full-time Operations Manager to support FPF's progress!

Key responsibilities include management of:

• Operations Team (including a well-established staff bookkeeper)
• Human resources
• Bookkeeping and finance (using Xero, Gusto, Stripe and PayPal)
• Cloud services for staff (including Slack, Google Workspace, HubSpot and DropBox)
• Office and equipment
• Donations program

We are looking for an energetic person who has:

• Ample relevant operations experience
• Strong technology and analytical skills, including spreadsheets
• Experience evaluating and improving business systems
• Passion for helping Vermont communities increase their resiliency during challenging times
• Team-first outlook, responsible, and committed to communicating well with colleagues
• Ability to self-direct work, and reliably follow through to get it done
• Experience advising and supporting a leadership team
• Ability to work effectively from home or other remote locations
• Ability to work in Burlington office at least two days per week (as pandemic conditions allow)
